For
the shipping of your goods you must -
Bring your goods to the SOBEMAP Depot -
Collect your shipment form from the Forwarding Agency of the
Shipping Company transporting the goods -
Then present the shipment form at the SOBEMAP Marketing Department
to pay export handling and positioning charges when the goods are in
the container. - Go
to the service hangar concerned to submit the documents required for
shipment. These include:
- the Shipment form

Export-handling invoice -
Customs declaration form

- Goods must be lifted within the stipulated period A -
Locate your goods by identifying the SOBEMAP Depot or reservation
strip concerned. -
Contact the Forwarding Agent of the Shipping Company to withdraw the
Waybill (usually referred to as Delivery notice or Lifting notice). -
Then go to the SOBEMAP Marketing Department with the Waybill to pay
the handling charges B
- Show the receipts of payment of handling charges in these places
to enable the Storekeeper prepare a delivery note. However, do not forget the formalities required by other Port operators. They
are compulsory to ensure the release of your goods, but are not to
be done before the delivery note is issued. -
Declare any damages to your goods in the area marked "constat
d'avaries" (damage report)" on the delivery
note. Removal
of goods after the stipulated period You
have paid handling charges but for reasons beyond your control you
are late in removing your goods. A- Return
to the SOBEMAP Sales Department with the receipts to pay the new
security charges. B-
Four
(4) months after your goods arrived at the Port. Your goods
have been transferred to the Port Customs Warehouse and you want to
clear them Check
at the Customs Warehouse to make sure that your goods are still
there and have not been auctioned off. If
they have not been sold off, go to the SOBEMAP Marketing Department
to pay the charges required for you to remove your goods. Deadline
for removing goods a)
Consumer goods -
Goods in containers: At importation or exportation, the deadline for
the goods franchise is 6 days from the date the vessel made them
available. This is counted from 48 hours after the arrival of the
ship. -
Vehicles
and mobile hardware: At importation and exportation, the deadline of
the franchise if from 4 days after the vessels made them available,
which is 48 hours after the arrival of the ship.
b)
Good in transit At
importation or exportation, the deadline for the goods franchise is
15 days from the date the vessel made them available. This is
counted from 48 hours after the arrival of the ship. However,
an additional day may be granted at importation at the rate of 200
tons for large amounts of bagged goods. The
deadline of franchise for all whatever the type, is 18 days. |
